Ottawa National Forest The almost one
million acres of the Ottawa National Forest are
located in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
It extends from the south shore of Lake Superior
down to Wisconsin and the Nicolet National Forest.
The area is rich in wildlife viewing opportunities;
topography in the northern portion is the most
dramatic with breathtaking views of rolling hills
dotted with lakes, rivers and spectacular
waterfalls.
-
Huron-Manistee National Forest The
Huron-Manistee National Forests comprise almost a
million acres of public lands extending across the
northern lower peninsula of Michigan. The
Huron-Manistee National Forests provide recreation
opportunities for visitors, habitat for fish and
wildlife, and resources for local industry.
-
Hiawatha National Forest The Hiawatha
offers visitors access to underdeveloped shores of
three of America's great inland seas: Lakes
Superior, Michigan, and Huron. The lakeshores' are
home for many sensitive plants and animals; our
interpretive programs help visitors understand the
need to "tread lightly" while enjoying their
beaches.
